We are always excited to welcome new singers to our choral music program.

Auditions are held in the spring for the following fall. 

Students do not have to audition to be in our Madison Majors (Basso Chorus- tenors and basses) or The Madison Singers (Intermediate Treble Choir- sopranos and altos).

An audition is required for the Madison Select Singers (Advanced Treble Choir) 

and the Madrigals (Vocal Ensemble).

New to Madison Students who plan to audition have online access to audition materials.  Singers will be expected to learn a provided, prepared solo piece, complete solfege scales in various keys, and complete at least 3 levels of sight reading.  In order to be considered for the advanced groups, students must have 100% accuracy at Sight Reading Factory Level 1 and a minimum of 85% at Sight Reading Factory Level 2.  Level 3 is not required but will be used for further evaluation.  All auditions must be uploaded by mid-May.  (Students who are new to Fairfax County schools should email Mrs. Rowan in order to gain access to the materials.)

Current MadChoir students will have the chance to learn about the audition process in classes.
